We provide both concrete and asphalt paving solutions. We often get asked what the difference is between concrete and asphalt. There are many difference between the two including the makeup of the two substances.
Asphalt is composed of tar and gravel. Tar used as an adhesive which is what keeps the mixture together. Asphalt is often used in paving due to the fact that it takes a shorter amount of time to cure and is usually a cheaper alternative to concrete. The cons to asphalt is that it requires more maintenance than concrete.
Concrete on the other hand is composed of cement, air, water, sand, and gravel. Cement is made from calcined lime and clay and when mixed with water provides the glue needed to keep concrete together. Concrete has a slower curing time than asphalt and is often more expensive. However, concrete tends to last longer, allows for customization and requires less maintenance.
