Becoming a homeowner can be overwhelming with the amount of things you need to consider for your home. There are many aspects of your home and unfortunately you don’t all of a sudden become an expert on all maintenance things required for new homes when you sign those papers and become a homeowner.
While we can’t help you with everything, we are experts to help you with your driveway and patio needs. If you are considering getting a patio or reconstructing your driveway, here are some of the options you have:
The most common type of driveway and patio is concrete. Chances are your current driveway is probably made of concrete. Concrete is an age-old material that is strong, sturdy and durable. It requires little maintenance and will look nice for years to come. One of the beautiful things about concrete that has changed over the years is that you don’t have to settle for bland gray concrete anymore. Concrete is now more customizable as you can put patterns and designs in your concrete as well as have various color options.
Another option for your driveway is asphalt. Asphalt is often times cheaper than concrete, but does require maintenance every 3-5 years in order to keep it in good condition. With asphalt you only get one option: black and flat. Designs are not possible in asphalt like in concrete. Sealcoating your asphalt every 3-5 years helps to preserve its strength. Asphalt is often times a better alternative to concrete in colder climates as it is better able to handle the freezing better than concrete.
Pavers: Stone & Brick
If you want a little bit more creativity in your driveway or patio you can have pavers installed. Pavers help to create different looks and feels for your home. With pavers you can create any design you want and create beautiful patterns that adds to the sophistication of your home. The one thing to note is that in colder climates it is harder to clear snow off of pavers.
The beautiful thing about our dear state of Georgia is that we do not have to worry about the colder climate conditions that other states have to deal with. We offer asphalt and concrete paving solutions to residents in the metro Atlanta area. If you have any further questions feel free to give us a call!
