KEEP THIS FROM HAPPENING! MAKE SURE YOUR PARKING LOT HAS SEALCOATING BEFORE PRESSURE WASHING IT
It is right before the holidays and you want your business to look in tip top shape to accept all the customers that are coming through. A quick fix to cleaning up your parking lot and taking away all the dirt and grime that have built up is pressure washing it. It sounds like a good idea and will quickly clean the oil and guck from your parking lot.
However, when was the last time you had your parking lot sealcoated? If you haven’t had your parking lot sealcoated in the last 3-5 years then pressure washing your parking lot could cause more damage then good. Water is one of pavements biggest enemies. Water gets into your pavement and creates cracks and potholes and overtime will deteriorate your parking lot.
Sealcoating puts a protective layer on your pavement to help protect it from harmful elements including water. If your don’t have sealant on your pavement or if it has been too long since your last sealcoating then the water will seep into the pavement and can cause long term damage that is going to cause you to need to repair or repave your pavement a lot sooner than your normally would need to.
Pressure washing may seem like the best solution to cleaning your parking lot, but make sure your parking lot is protected before hand.
